Anything under 10 years is kinda janky, under 2 years is just a fat steaming pile of shit. Its insanity a $2500 fridge can take a shit in such a short length of time. Theres about zero chance I will buy anything from them at this point, fridge was already out the window because of the pretty famous ice maker issue I have already been living with. Thankfully the place I called will be out tomorrow, I have kept the fridge closed because there is lots of food in there, could not get it to reset so have no idea the temps. It does seem to be constantly running so looks that its that. ![]() they said they will probably have the part if that's it but wouldnt tell me if they would be able to like float me a compressor and fix it right away and take the one lg sends, whenever it shows up. They did say they will waive that if they do a repair. The cost to just come and diagnose is $149. I did find a place that will be out next day. The could not say how long it would take to get one. Last one said they might send a new compressor if thats the issue. I was on the phone 2 hours, talked to a guy whos parents were probably cousins and 2 guys from bangladesh and they say I have to pay for my own repair. I have a fridge that is less than 2 years old and just got the fault code basically pointing to the compressor. Go buy a GE, and be happy with your purchase knowing you never have to deal with LG ever again. Learn everyone else's lesson and just get rid of it. Hopefully he gets another two years out of it before it dies again. It took 5 total months to get his fridge fixed. Finally got them to agree to send us a new control. Customer service didn't know what we were talking about. There's a sticker on the compressor that says do not run this compressor without an update to the control. It took us 2 months to get a compressor after multiple calls. I decided to help since I do refrigeration. The company I work for doesn't do work for LG for good reason either. TLDR: compressor appears to be gone, can’t get lg to fix it (yet?). ![]() Is there anything else I can do to move the ball forward? Should I just be cutting my losses and buying a new fridge? After realizing that living out of coolers will be more than temporary. ![]() I’ve asked to talk to the supervisor on the customer support line, which tends to just be another person repeating the same things the previous ones are saying, but always offer to send an email “escalating it”. I’ve reached out to multiple Lg repairmen and appliance repair services, but no one will fix it. ![]() I’ve followed up the day after each timeframe they gave me and they just tell me to wait longer. I keep getting told wait, either 2-3 or 3-5 days, and they’ll probably refund me the purchase price or replace the fridge. I’ve gotten so many run around over the past 6.5 weeks. I reported the issue on July 31st, and I’m still awaiting a resolution.Īpparently they can’t find anyone to repair it in my area. Well I found out cause less than 3 years in, it appears the compressor went. I lucked out and bought a floor model fridge from Home Depot in 2018, that was manufactured in 2014, that was apparently part of that class action lawsuit for the bad compressors. Looking for any recommendations on where to go next.
